Frequently asked questions
Is TDS my tax or the client's?
It's YOUR tax paid on your behalf — the client withholds and deposits against your PAN. If the credit doesn't reflect in Form 26AS, you must chase it before filing or pay twice.
Can I stop TDS on my invoices?
Only below the per-payment thresholds (₹30k for 194J). Above that it's your client's legal duty — the goal isn't avoiding it, it's claiming every rupee of credit.
